I saw this story on BBCi last week and immediately wondered how long it would be before it ended up on Bad Science. In a nutshell:

A supplement containing fatty acids may help children do better at school.

Tests of VegEPA, in four overweight youngsters, showed improvement in reading, concentration, and memory.

Brain scans showed three years worth of development in just three months in the children, says Imperial College researcher Professor Basant Puri.

Let’s not overlook the fact that this study concerned just four children and was funded by the TV production company Endemol (producers of Big Brother) … well, the Bad Science article really says it all.
